There are so many hummus recipes out there today but have you ever thought about combining those with chocolate recipes? There is an amazing chocolate hummus recipe that we highly recommend fixing up for a somewhat healthy and indulging snack! Since this hummus recipe does not require any oil, so this recipe is a great way to still take advantage of the fiber and protein from the garbanzo beans in a lighter setting.
Chocolate Hummus Recipe:
What you will need:
- 1 Can of Garbanzo Beans - Rinsed & Drained
- 2 Tablespoons of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- ¼ Cup of Maple Syrup
- ¼ Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
- Cinnamon
- Sea Salt
- Water
- Powdered Sugar for Garnish
How to prepare:
- You will want to start by placing all of the ingredients, except the water and powdered sugar, into a food processor. Sprinkle the cinnamon and sea salt as desired.
- Make sure to blend the mixture until it smooths. Next, slowly add ¼ cup of water until you reach your desired consistency. Make sure to add the water gradually as to not overpower the mixture.
- Next, sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with your favorite sides! This chocolate hummus is best lathered on bread or served with pretzels, strawberries, and other delicious sides!
