October hosts a lot of events - from the start of fall to all things spooky for Halloween. October, additionally, is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a time when individuals, communities, and organizations come together to raise awareness about the disease and provide support for those living with it.
This month, take the time to schedule a mammogram or remind the lady of your life to do so. Early detection saves lives, and a mammogram is a great way to get started. At San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, they are giving away 15 free mammograms throughout the month of October. To be eligible, women must:
- Be at least 40 years of age
- Have no breast abnormalities including cancer, implants or silicone injections
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
- No insurance is required!
But don't worry, if you miss out on the free screenings, San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital will offer low-cost mammograms throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month! You can enjoy the discounted rate of $60 and have peace of mind that you're in the hands of a professional.
