Kidde, a major manufacturer of fire extinguishers, has recalled more than 40 million fire extinguishers used in homes, vehicles, and boats. These fire extinguishers can become clogged or require excessive force to discharge, and can fail to activate during a fire emergency. In addition, the nozzle can detach with enough force to pose an impact hazard.
If you have an extinguisher listed in the recall, contact Kidde to request a free replacement, as well as instructions for returning the recalled unit.
