Automation Vehicles In The Future
The future is here and technological advancements are showing that a world similar to the hot television series,
The Jetsons, may be closer in reach than the majority of us previously thought. Did you know that driverless cars are predicted to be on roads in 5 years? This prediction was recently released by Ford Motor Co. Chief Executive Officer, Mark Fields.
The world of automation is quickly picking up speed, with home automation already becoming a hot product. Soon, autonomous vehicles shall be cruising the open roads. While there are still technological barriers that are hindering the ability to make autonomous vehicles a reality today, we should be seeing manufacturers releasing driverless cars within the next five years or so.
Predictions show that driverless cars will be most prominently found in urban areas with large populations and heavy congestion. Since autonomous cars are expected to reduce congestion, they will likely be most effective and in highest demand in big cities where congestion is an issue.
One important area of uncertainty to examine are the new rules of the roads once driverless cars make their way in. Since both laws and insurance implications will be directly impacted with this technological development, government regulators must be prepared to handle these changes with ease and efficiency.
If you are interested in seeing a concept car with autonomous features, check out the F 015 Mercedes concept car, as this is likely to resemble the feel, features, and look of autonomous cars in the near future.
