The 6
th annual Rendezvous Back to Route 66 event is back and is right around the corner. Don't miss this exciting and fun event taking place on October 6, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. For a whole twelve hours, you can enjoy custom cars and motorcycles in downtown San Bernardino. This year promises to be bigger and better than ever, with over 1000 vehicles this year!
The Rendezvous Back to Route 66 came about after the San Bernardino Convention & Visitors Bureau's Route 66 Rendezvous lost their funding from the city after 22 years. Throughout those years, the Rendezvous brought thousands of people to the event. In 2013, the San Bernardino Area Chamber of Commerce decided to keep the spirit of the Route 66 Rendezvous alive by putting together a classic car show held at San Manuel Stadium that brought in fewer cars and a smaller audience.
Location:
The event borders are "E" Street to the West, 5th Street to the North, Arrowhead to the East and 2nd Street to the South. The cruise route will wind itself around and through the event area. The approved route is 2nd Street to Arrowhead Avenue, North to 5th, West on 5th to "E" Street, North on "E" Street to 6th Street, U-Turn to South on "E" Street, East on Court Street to D Street, South on D to 2nd Street, East on 2nd to Arrowhead Avenue. This year's event will have a cooldown area on the cruise route for cars that can over-heat due to a slow cruise.
Court Street Square will be the activity center of this year's event. The Court Street Stage area will be the location of the CARtoberfest (Beer Gardens) where the brew will be flowing. What's more, there will be three beer gardens at this year's event, located at Court Street Square and in front of City Hall.
