October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States other than skin cancer. However, millions of women are surviving the disease thanks in part to early detection and improvements in treatment. Since October is right on our doorstep, we thought we'd get you ready for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. You can help by doing your part to support the fight against breast cancer.
National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an annual campaign held in October meant to increase the spread of educational material about breast cancer. One of the main goals of Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to educate women about mammograms. Mammograms can detect breast cancer in its early stages, and they are considered to be one of the most effective tools in the fight against breast cancer. This October, make sure you are dedicated to your breast health by scheduling your annual mammogram today.
At Little & Sons Insurance Services, we encourage every woman to get screened during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We're committed to helping our mothers, daughters, sisters, and wives get screened and get insured - just in case.
San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital supports Breast Cancer Awareness in October by offering low-cost mammograms all month long. At only $60, you can feel rest assured that you are doing what's best for your body. In support of this cause, the hospital is giving away 15 free mammograms.
To be eligible for mammograms, women must:
- Be at least 40 years old
- Have no breast abnormalities including cancer, implants, or silicone injections
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
