While warm weather sounds like the perfect condition to play beach volleyball or hop in the pool for a nice swim, it’s important to be mindful that extreme heat can be dangerous. Stay hydrated.

Your body will naturally use a lot of energy trying to stay cool, which is why staying hydrated is essential to prevent breathing issues, hypertension, and kidney conditions. If you know you’re going to be outside or sweating, be sure to drink plenty of fluids.

Stay cool.

Keeping your home as cool as possible in hot temperatures will put you in a better mood and will make you more comfortable. If possible, put on the air conditioner, close the blinds, and stay in the coolest area of the house. If. You don’t have A/C in your home, find an air-conditioned shelter in your community and get some relief there for a few hours.

Avoid direct sunlight.

To avoid developing heat stroke or other heat-related illnesses, limit your time outdoors on those hot days, especially midday when the sun is at its hottest. If you’re outside on a sunny day, stay in the shade.

Eat lighter foods.

Aim to eat light foods that are processed by the body easily, such as fruit, vegetables, salads, and high-water content foods. Watermelon, leafy greens, coconut water, berries, broccoli, and bell peppers are good choices when the weather is hot.
