How crash worthy is your teen’s car?

How crash worthy is your teen’s car?

As the new school year approaches, we, as parents have a lot to be concerned about. There are our children’s studies, their extra-curricular activities, their social circles and of course, if they are college age, it adds a whole new level of concern

Of course, parents have long been concerned about the safety of their driving age students on the roadways. If you have a student that is of driving age, the non-profit Insurance Information Institute has a valuable tool that can help determine the safety of the car that your student drives. While the safety standards of automobiles have increased through the years, and there are certain minimum standards, the reality is that some cars are safer than others. This searchable tool from the Insurance Information Institute allows you to select the make model, and year of the vehicle. It then provides each vehicle’s rating based on a 40 mph frontal off-set crash. This may provide some crash worthy information you will find useful in selecting your teen’s car.
